This is a very special deck to me. It’s been through a few printings and editions since 1988, with the one I’m using today being the most recent.
Earlier this year, I worked with a shaman to determine my animal totems, a practice in her lineage that is only done once in a person’s lifetime. It was incredibly exciting, and this deck was an integral part of our work that day.
More on my totems later. I just wanted to pump you up for how great this deck is!
For now, think about something you’d like extra support, insight, or guidance around, and pick a card.
Have a beautiful week,
Natalie
PS: Do you know that I’ll soon be celebrating the 4-year anniversary of these Monday letters?

Snake
Can you shed your skin right now? Rather, what energy have you ingested that you’re carrying around with you that isn’t serving you?
This is about integration and release. And wonderful timing with the recent full moon and solstice energy lingering.
It’s easy to carry around energy and not even notice that it’s weighing you down, stressing you out, or even making you ill. Continuing to give it a place to live allows it to grow stronger until you start seeing signs of this burden show up in your life.
The first step is identifying what you know isn’t for the greater good. From there, use the tools you have or ask for help. It’s time to shed it, friend. And the universe is reminding you that you are supported.

Prairie Dog
Your life force energy is everything. It’s why you create things or fall in love, or decide to move towards or away from something.
Most of us are running around with such busy lives that we don’t notice our life force energy is diminished until we start feeling drained.
Prairie Dog is your reminder to tend to your life force. It’s a precious thing, and if it’s been hovering near empty for a little or long while, now is the time to tend to it.
It’s okay to stay in this week. Carve out a date night with yourself. Make a lovely meal. Watch a movie or read a book. Hike. Nap. Put on your favorite record.
It’s important to recognize when, like this sweet animal, you need to spend a little time “underground” and away from the hustle of the world.
three
Swan
This beautiful spirit wants to fold you up in its wings and say, “Trust in what is happening. Surrender to the natural energetic flow of your life.”
When you stop trying to control the outcome and instead just go with the flow, everything is easier. It might not seem that way since it can be scary to not know what to expect, especially regarding finances, relationships, or health.
But the only place you can be in this existence is in alignment with the energy you’re living in. Find your flow and notice when you feel stuck. The gift in stagnation is asking yourself how you might try something new or different next time.
Trust in the flow of your life. Find as many moments as you can to just be.
thank you for this! I always love your readings. I used to have this deck before it got lost during a move. Need to track it down again lol
