How is your New Year going?
Like all cultural milestones and holidays, we experience them differently.
For me, I try to set a tone for the new year sometime in December so I have a little momentum when January arrives. My birthday is December 26th, so I have a built-in, tidy way of wrapping up the calendar year AND another year on this planet.
It’s all arbitrary!
I’ve heard of people starting their new year all over the calendar. If the January one doesn’t do much for you, lean into what might feel better with your rhythms and life.
I’d love to hear from you if you already have a different way of experiencing a new year. Send me a note in reply to this email.
If you’re looking for more clarity, I’d love to connect for a 1:1 reading. If there’s a schedule problem, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly, I’ll fit you in!

Natalie
The Cards:
Decks: Antique Anatomy
This deck, by Claire Goodchild, has a beautiful, old-timey feel to it. My favorite twist on the traditional suits is her choice to replace Cups with Elixirs. An apothecary & anatomical notebook in deck form ❤️
Crystals & Stones:
👉Hold up!
Take a few centering breaths, then choose a card BEFORE scrolling down.
Think about what you’d most like some guidance around, and be open to whatever shows up. ✨

ONE
The Hermit, reversed
It’s time to assess where you might be ready to seek community or advice in your life. The Hermit teaches us how to turn inward, quiet our lives, and listen.
But there is balance in all things, and this reversal indicates that it is time to branch out again.
This can look like so many things, but it’s important that it feels right for you.
Perhaps it’s getting to know folks at work a little better.
Maybe it’s saying hello to your neighbor and striking up a chat.
Other ways this energy can manifest include: taking a class, joining a club, seeking help, calling up an old friend, etc.
There’s magic in the full circle of turning inward and then returning to the world anew. Enjoy.
TWO
Three of Rods (Wands)
You’re ready to take the next step. Take an inventory of what you’ve accomplished to get to this point, and get ready for some forward movement.
The Three of Rods offers us opportunities to tap into the energy that carries us to the next stop on the journey.
Pay attention to ways this might show up for you. Some examples include: an offer to co-create with someone else, an opportunity, an inspiring conversation, an informative book or documentary…
You’re poised for more of the good stuff. Get ready!
THREE
Queen of Blades (swords)
Remember, archetypal energies exist within all of us, and all around us. Queen energy can manifest in all people, regardless of gender identity. Likewise with any of the cards.
It’s time to embrace the queen energy in your life and within you.
She is a strong reminder to have confidence in what you know and the skills you have, yet remain observant and reasonable.
You’re behind the wheel on this next part of your journey.
Even if others are along for the ride, you have what you need to make the next decision and move things forward independently.
You can handle this next task all on your own. It’s your decision to make, and you’re ready.
