Hi friends,
This letter hasn’t missed a week in just over 3 years!! I can’t believe it either.
I want to start off with a huge THANK YOU to those of you who have become subscribers. Your support makes this letter possible, and if I’m honest, holds me to a higher standard every time I write to you.
New moon
It’s not exactly the new moon, but it’s a new moon week, which means you have an opportunity to take a look at what kinds of intentions you want to make moving into a new moon cycle.
What does this mean?
We hear the word intention thrown around a lot these days. And that’s great! But if you’re not exactly sure how to create new moon intentions, here’s a good place to begin:
(and, no, you don’t have to “believe” in astrology or moon cycles for this to be powerful…the moon can simply be a marker for you to reflect each month)
-Don’t overthink it too much. Typically what comes up first is something to pay attention to.
-A post-it note will work. It doesn’t have to be fancy.
-Anything you want to improve—big or small—counts. Small might be remembering to floss. Big might be working through anger or other deep wounds.
Hopefully, this week’s cards will have something in store for you. Perhaps they’ll get the intention ideas flowing or confirm something you already knew.
xo,
Natalie
PS: If you’re a regular reader and follower, you might have noticed that my IG account was recently renamed from @iamcapricornborn to @nataliej.co
But Capricorn Born is such a cool name, why change it?
I’ll bring you up to speed in an upcoming letter soon, but don’t worry, this letter is still on schedule to arrive in your inbox on Monday’s, indefinitely.

You’ve been managing a lot lately. It might be work, health issues, kiddos, working out, and trying to have a social life, or just trying to get through the day.
It doesn’t matter what has you juggling things, what’s important is that you can identify what it is (as I often say, trust the first thing that just popped into your head).
Identifying a problem helps you on your way to solving it. In this case, whatever is causing a little too much stress in your life, consider taking a little more time to evaluate if it’s necessary to keep doing it.
This is where the Four of Cups comes in.
There is tremendous value in taking an inventory of how you’re spending your time. You might not be able to change much about your schedule and responsibilities, but you always have power over how you show up.
For example, if you’re always feeling frazzled right when you sit down to try and get some work done, consider what you did right before this.
Could you carve out 5 or 10 minutes to breathe or walk or do something to ground you before you sit down to work?
Is this something you could cut back on or eliminate altogether?
Maybe you need a stronger boundary with this person or thing?
You might not totally fix the issue on your first try, but the important thing is that you’re noticing it and intending to do something different next time.

This is a double whammy of a message that you are likely in some kind of pattern of avoidance.
First of all, it’s okay. You’re human and you have learned different ways to cope with stress and pain. That’s normal.
But this pair invites you to really dig deep and look under your bed for the big, scary monster. This part is not only important, but imperative in order to make a change.
We know that looking at something uncomfortable or painful will be, well, probably uncomfortable and painful.
But the way out is always through.
Trust yourself here. Trust that after you’ve done the under-the-bed-looking that you can and WILL get through this.
From there you can begin the slow process of making choices that bring you out of a pattern of avoidance and back into the world of deeper connection, good times, and some laughs.
Be patient, but be diligent. The only thing giving the monster its power is your avoidance of it. Look at it. Feel it. Then watch it move through your system.
Then repeat.
Moving energy, especially angry, fearful, and stuck energy is part of staying healthy.
And, of course, ask for help from a pro if you need the support.

The good news is that you’ve caught a wave. It’s likely you’ve been busier than usual, and hopefully more productive. Life might feel like it’s moving a little bit faster these days and you’re along for the ride.
Perhaps you’re also feeling hyper-focused, and making some real progress towards health, work, hobby or other goals. Great!
But here’s the thing: make sure you’re also taking a little time out for yourself.
You might not feel like you need it right now if the energy is in your favor, but it’s the kind of thing that can catch up to you.
Besides, it’s a healthy and productive practice to do all the time, no matter what you’re going through.
So make a little time for you. If that’s getting up 20 minutes before the rest of your family, do it.
Taking a walk after dinner, great.
Or my favorite (for the busiest people with full, chaotic houses): lock yourself in the bathroom for five minutes and deep breathe.
Carving out some time for you is going to help you continue to ride this wave in a more balanced way long-term.
