Imbolc is here. Or, rather, was this weekend. But with the cross-quarter days, I like to stretch the vibe for at least a week. We’re halfway to the Spring Equinox, yay!

What is Imbolc?

Imbolc is the midwinter festival marking the first stirrings of spring. Celebrated on February 1st or 2nd, it symbolizes the return of light, as the days slowly grow longer. The holiday honors Brigid, the goddess of healing, fertility, and inspiration, and marks the time for cleansing and setting intentions for the coming year.

Imbolc is about renewal—both in nature and within ourselves—as we prepare for the new growth of spring while still acknowledging the remnants of winter. It’s a time to reflect on what needs to be released and what new seeds—literal or metaphorical—you wish to plant as the year progresses.

past: 10 Swords rx

It’s time to release any final pieces you’re hanging onto. Perhaps you’re dealing with health issues or problems with people you love most. Maybe you were let go from your job and now you have the flu. Ugh.

Whatever the gnarly news, YOU can nudge it into your past by inviting it there. “Here you go, right this way, thanks.”

This doesn’t mean ignoring the work of processing, grieving, and healing. It just means that this situation doesn’t need to define your life’s story. It doesn’t get to be center stage anymore, no matter how much you secretly loooove the drama of it (if that resonates, you might love this book).

You have the power to begin a new story, and now is the time to step in that direction.

present: Page Wands rx

A perfect energy to follow the 10 of Swords, the Page of Wands is bursting with new energy. Wands are associated with fire, passion, and the energy that pushes us to achieve and explore.

But reversed it suggests that you’re not allowing it out to play. Likely, the 10 of Swords energy is holding you back. You’re dwelling on what IS instead of opening a door to a new way, a new path.

What, deep down in your bones, is calling to you to bring into your life?

Pay close attention. You’ll know. It’s time to allow that energy room in your life to flourish.

future: Justice

This is likely to show up in your immediate future should you heed the first two cards.

Justice is exactly what you might think: law, balance, cause and effect. It is ruled by truth.

So what’s the big message here?

Moving forward, you must be honest with yourself. Why might you be hanging onto the story from the 10 of Swords? What purpose is it serving? Are you afraid? Do you secretly love the attention from others that drama brings?

And what from the Page is calling you to bring forth?

Answer these questions with brutal honesty (like writing them down and burning it up afterwards) and you’ll be on your way forward toward what is waiting for you.

past: 10 Coins

Soak up those feelings of comfort and abundance. Take in the delicious meals and cozy bed with a deep presence.

You have what you need to support you, but it’s time to step out of your comfort zone into something new, and likely, unknown.

But that’s scary!

Maybe, but it’s also where life gets fulfilling and exciting.

present: 8 Wands

Things may feel like they’re picking up speed, or perhaps you’re already feeling the momentum of some big, fast changes in your life. Yipeee!

This is where trust in yourself is paramount. Embrace the energy and opportunities available to you and ride that wave, baby. Pull the oars into your boat and go with the flow ‘cause things are picking up some major speed.

future: 5 Swords

While this ride is getting wild for you, be aware of paths that lead to disagreements and conflict. Some of this may be inevitable, as is often the case with momentum.

However, do your best to avoid winning at all costs or undercutting someone you know (I mean, don’t do that, like, ever). Lean into taking some thoughtful breaths and reminding yourself to be curious instead of confrontational.

past: Ace Wands rx

Have you been holding off on saying yes to something or trying something new? Maybe you’re not sure how to start or are just overwhelmed by too many ideas.

This is a reminder to make a decision.

Most of our suffering as humans—besides the weird stories we make up about everything in our lives in our heads—is from sitting in a state of indecision about something.

It’s time to decide and move forward.

present: The Fool

And when I say move forward, like, now.

The Fool’s energy is so beautiful and a little terrifying (in a good way). When you set out in a direction after making a decision, it brings new people and experiences your way.

Some of these are positive and joyful, while others might be challenging. The key here is to walk the path of your decision knowing that anything that happens can still serve you. There are gifts in all of it.

Do your best to check in with yourself, too. If it feels shady or weird, reassess. If it feels good and genuinely aligned, keep going.

future: 7 Coins

Now that you’ve made a decision and started down this path, keep tending to things. Stay focused on the original intention, or your “why” as you continue. It will help you make decisions that are in everyone’s best interest.

If you hit bumps in the road but still feel aligned with your new direction, stay the course.

You’ll discover rewards and satisfaction in staying consistent. This is very exciting and has every marker of an abundant and successful outcome. Yay!

If you’ve read this newsletter over the few couple of years, then you’ve heard me mention tarot readings. The cool thing about 2025 is…Zoom. Readings anywhere in the world, baby!

• everything is confidential, and I won’t identify you in any way unless you give me permission to share. Sometimes I’ll share pictures of the cards themselves, but that is in no way linked to you unless you want it to be
