With New Moon energy carrying us into a new cycle, this reading offers you suggestions for how to move forward in a positive and aligned way.
We’re all carrying a lot this year, and the New Moon is a perfect time to let go of what you know isn’t serving you. It’s also a time to plant new seeds of intention.
When you ask for something in prayer or ceremony, the New Moon also reminds us to first take time to appreciate all that we already have. A warm shower, a full stomach, loving and thoughtful people in our lives.
Where would you like to go next? What are you moving toward? What is calling you?
There’s big, sweeping energy present right now. Hold onto your hats.
The cards
Today is a 3-card spread meant to be read as a whole message, one that informs whatever question you’ve asked. I’m working with the classic Rider-Waite deck and Lumina Tarot decks.
From left to right, piles 1-3.
Which pile draws you in the most?
What is something you’re seeking guidance on right now? If nothing comes to mind, try, “What do I most need to hear right now?”
Breath. Listen. Feel. Then choose.
The crystals & stones:
1-Citrine: joy, positivity, and prosperity✨solar plexus chakra
2-Septarian: overall health and well-being, grounding✨root chakra
3- Black Moonstone: calm emotions, feminine energy, hormonal imbalances✨root & third eye chakras
Hold up!
Choose a pile from the photo above before scrolling down.

Pile 1
This pile points strongly to a relationship in your life that has recently experienced some bumps. It could be a partner, friend, co-worker, or family member.
You’ll know who.
The Two of Cups invites us to embrace balance, healing, and harmony in our lives. It offers a powerful message: the potential for healing.
The Knight of Cups reversed suggests that one or both of you have been demonstrating unrealistic expectations, moodiness, possibly even jealousy. But the Ten of Swords reversed invites you to let go of these feelings.
Allow your negative feelings to guide you by way of representing what you don’t want, and thus, pointing you toward what you do want.
What will serve you is to spend time understanding what you’re pushing against in this situation. Perhaps you’re not even sure since the two of you have been going round and round and round.
Because you have two of three reversed cards showing up, it is incredibly important that you face your own expectations and ideas first. You must be clear, and able to release and forgive. You must be clear in your own mind and Self.
Balance is possible, and so is healing. But you must first own your part in things, and possibly even, forgive yourself. So often our conflicts arise from what we’re carrying within and it’s others who simply hold up the mirror.
Intention for the week: I am healing and striving for balance in my life and relationships. I forgive myself. I forgive myself. I forgive myself.
Pile 2
Pile Two People, this is your week to dig deep.
Maybe you’ve been avoiding it, or maybe you’ve been in an introspective mode for days, but this spread is shouting out one big message: You hold the answer to the problem you’re facing.
Together, these cards speak of manipulation and forceful energy, with little planning. In other words, you’re pushing too hard for the desired outcome, and likely due to an emotional reaction.
Maybe it’s a family situation or job or relationship, but you’re reacting and pushing up against something, striving blindly—and sometimes erratically—for an outcome that won’t serve you. You likely do not even understand what you’re actually trying to achieve.
You’re reacting, not listening.
The good news is that the Sun offers you the message that its light is always shining, even if you can’t see it. This means your best Self—your higher Self—and the person you want to be is inside of you, always. That light never goes out, even if you lose sight of it sometimes.
Try and center yourself by stepping back from things. Right now, you might be feeling out of control, like you just want to walk away and give up.
You might also be expecting relief and happiness as a condition of someone else’s behavior. If they do x, y, or z, then I’ll feel better.
This is always a dead end.
When you understand that you are the only one that can bring peace into your life, you start the process of moving toward it.
Reflect on why you’re reacting, possibly being difficult, and pushing so hard. What is triggering you? What inner message are you ignoring right now?
Intention for the week: My highest Self is always present, guiding me. I am listening.
Pile 3
Beautiful and simple, this spread holds a lot of energetic weight and carries an important message for you: Be patient.
Even though it feels like your world is in chaos or crumbling right in front of you, this is part of a much bigger process.
You are on the verge of change in your life, a big personal breakthrough. This change offers you balance and purpose. This clarity is an immense gift, and you have great things coming your way.
In order to get to this new place, you are being asked to cultivate your capacity for patience. It’s a time to trust the flow of your life: you’ve made it this far and will make it through again.
But first, like the snake leaving its skin behind, you must shed the many things that aren’t serving you. They might even be precious, but if they are weighing you down, they must be released.
You’re carrying so much, dear reader, that your world feels all wobbly and out of balance. What can you let go of?
Look at what is too heavy and say, “I release this."
Transitions lead us to new places, but they take time and the ability to embrace chaos until the dust settles. But when it does, it will all be worth it.
Intention for the week: I release what isn’t serving me anymore. I will find my way forward by leaning into what feels good. I will practice patience. Great things are coming my way.
A big dose of energy from the cards this week. Remember, tarot offers us a way to connect with our inner wisdom, what we already know to be true.
