Welcome.
This is an exciting reading today: a new spread with my favorite deck from Uusi Design + Worthwhile Paper’s lovely Oracle.
Today’s spread is NEW. Here’s how it shakes out and what you may want to focus on before choosing a pile. Card 1 is on the far left.
Fears
Needs
Desires
These three are supported by an Oracle card on the far right that adds another layer of dimension to your reading.
No matter what you’re going through in your life right now, it can be challenging to distinguish between needs & desires.
It’s also helpful to recognize the potential fears and fear-based thinking that is holding you back from achieving what you desire most.
In today’s reading, you may want to journal for a few minutes afterward and let things sink in, or let what wants to bubble up to the surface of your conscious mind come forward.
Enjoy.

one
death/fears: letting go, endings, moving on, transition
five of pentacles/needs: instability, scarcity, struggle, need for help
six of swords/desires: moving on, safety, shelter, distance, transition
Okay, dear one. This is some big energy. Not bad energy, but loud.
Every single card in this spread points to a transition into something new. This is chrysalis-to-butterfly-transformation energy that is rising up to meet you at this time.
It is time to emerge.
This means standing in your truth, being in alignment with who you are, and ignoring what others might think.
But this is no easy task, which is why your need card is signaling to you that it’s okay to reach out for help. Maybe it’s confiding in a friend, hiring a coach, or working with a healing practitioner or therapist.
Asking for help will move you forward faster and with more clarity.
It’s time to let go of whatever identity you’ve been holding onto, maybe for a brief period of time or perhaps for lifetimes. This is BIG and powerful.
Your desire to move on is battling with your fear of moving on. It is a back-and-forth energetic tug-of-war that cannot be won without some help. Let the cards be your first piece of guidance on this new journey.
You are craving relief and solid ground. Your fear of letting go is the timeless challenge humans face to trust and surrender. Focus on your desired stability and relief. Know that when you’re aligned with this desire your fears hold no power.
Emerge. It’s time.
two
The World/fears: lack of closure, disappointment, emptiness
Eight of cups/needs: fear of change, difficult choices, walking away
Ten of cups/desires: family, fulfilling relationships, emotional stability
Yes, listening quietly is important for you right now.
What does that mean?
Meditation (and if you think you suck at meditation, just sit and stare at a candle for ten minutes, that’ll do), journaling, and connecting with nature will all serve your journey immensely right now.
You want—more than anything—fulfilling, emotionally stable relationships. Whether it’s a partner, family member, or friend, your deep desires for these things are being held back by your fear of disappointment or betrayal.
We risk being hurt when we stand in a space of love. But acting from any other place will bring you farther off your path. That’s okay, but if you’re looking to attain your desires sooner rather than later, acting from love is key.
This might mean walking away from habits or people that aren’t serving you, too. That is an act of self-love that cannot be ignored.
Perhaps there is something you need to say to someone—or a truth to admit to yourself—before the doors open and you can move on.
Is there something you’re afraid to tell someone? Or something you’re afraid to admit to yourself?
Harmony with others starts within. Yeah, it’s a bit cliché, but true. It’s impossible to expect others to fill the holes we won’t face alone. But once you face those fears and look deeply at what you’re really afraid of, you’ll be able to walk away with confidence and step into your new, harmonious reality.
This reality is there now and has always been there. It’s up to you to step into it.
three
Ace of cups/fears: drained, isolated, empty, disconnected, repressed
The Hierophant/needs: social structures, education, tradition, institution
Three of Wands/desires: obstacles, disappointment, challenges
You, dear Seeker, are worried that you’ll feel this drained forever. Right?
If you could have one wish, it’s a clear path to peace and energy, and joy. It’s a map to get you through all this disappointment.
The good news?
You have resources and wisdom to get you there. This spread is a reminder that you sometimes need to turn to stable, time-tested energies to show you the way. To help you get on your feet, out of your head, and back on your true path.
The Hierophant embodies deep wisdom garnered from traditions, social structures, and institutions. His peace is found in education and trying to more deeply understand the world.
In our current society, many social norms and institutions are on shaky ground. It’s okay that things run their course and change, but your need right now is for some dependable stability.
This may mean doing something old school like taking an afternoon to visit the local library and be in a space that is consistent and comfortable. Seek new energies in places you might not expect, places where you can find the Hierophant’s stable and comforting energy: libraries, universities, community events, and traditional ceremonies.
Seeking stability and inspiration in classic environments will support your travel past the obstacles you’re wanting to release.
Seek inspiration in unusual places.
