Hey friends,
I’m not gonna lie, I’m still very much in a grief space. Perhaps even more than last week, as everything sinks in a little more.
I miss little Islay so much, and with my partner out of town, it’s QUIET over here.
This work (all things tarot) really helps. And having the space and silence to reflect is healing in its own way, too.
I enjoy sharing pictures & videos of her over on Instagram each day. Here are few more from a couple of years ago. Thank you Cori!!
This week is a special 3-card spread: past, present, and future.
My intention is for this reading’s message to be more immediate than long-term, however, everything is flexible depending on how this finds you.
Thank you for showing up here each week. If you love reading these, consider sharing Capricorn Born with a friend who might enjoy this too!
xo,
Natalie

one
Past: VII of elixirs (cups)
You’ve had a lot of choices to make, perhaps to the point that it’s caused some stress or confusion, like shiny object syndrome. It’s particularly important to recognize the facts of what was available to you vs. any stories you might’ve constructed about the situation.
Hint: we make up stories all day long, it’s normal. But it’s also helpful to be able to ask yourself: Is this true? Is this in my best interest?
From there, hopefully you were able to make a decision to take you farther down the road.
Present: VIII of coins (pentacles)
Gather what you’ve learned and begin refining. Spend time on the things that will move you closer to your aim and discard the rest.
This is a reminder to remain focused and diligent, particularly regarding how your past decision effects your physical world: home, finances, skills, etc.
Keep going, you’re on your way.
Immediate Future: Two of Swords
At some point soon you’re going to have to make another decision about things.
Remember, when we’re stuck in a place of indecision we cause ourselves the most suffering.
When the choice is presented to you, do your best to decide as soon as possible. Trust what you’ve learned. Trust yourself.
two
Past: Hierophant, reversed
You’ve been forging your own path lately. Perhaps even breaking from tradition or the way you’ve been taught to think or do things. This can be scary for some, but exciting.
If you’re feeling a little lost or out for control, creating some structure around your recent loosey-goosey decisions may help a bit. Write about what’s happened or share with someone you trust.
If you’re feeling freethinking and fancy, keep it up, but check in with your reasoning skills from time to time.
Present: Page of Blades (swords)
Following your recent changes, or a new path that’s emerged, it’s important to stay curious.
Ask questions. Be thoughtful. You are best served in this moment by thinking things through a little…but I’d say not too much.
Stay grounded in a little logic, and allow yourself some adventure, too.
Immediate Future: Eight of Pentacles, reversed
From there, you are likely going to need a little break. You’re making progress, but productive folks need rest, too.
Whatever you’ve learned from the recent past, and wherever the Page’s adventurous and curious energy takes you, it’s important that you take time for integration.
Without integration, we essentially forget everything we learn, or miss the lessons altogether. Keep your eyes peeled for a time and space to relax & reflect.
three
Past: King of Rods (wands), reversed
You’ve had some really good ideas recently, and maybe even some bursts of creative passion, but you’ve found something in your way.
Perhaps a lack of rest or focus. Maybe just life happening, as it does.
Don’t be discouraged by things you haven’t seen through to fruition. There will be a time for it.
Present: Queen of Blades (swords)
For now, it’s important that you work on clarity. Clarity is the antidote to procrastination.
Whatever was in your way recently is likely connected to a lack of clarity.
Spend some time getting clear on what you’d like to do and what that looks like. The more specific you can be, the better.
Immediate Future: Nine of Wands
With all of your newfound clarity, it’s important that you don’t overdo it. Keep a balanced pace.
Be aware of overwork or careless work.
It’s exciting to feel clear about something and want to work towards it, but pacing yourself will avoid burnout or giving up.
Slow and steady wins this race.
