Hey fam,
Last year, I was gifted a few very tiny Hollyhock plants. I put them in a spot I hoped they’d like, but nothing happened.
Until this year.
I’m not sure how to explain how awesome it is to watch these beauties push through the earth and climb to over SEVEN FEET tall in less than three months.
It’s pure magic.
What are they?
My understanding is that these are “double whites” (any experts out there, please correct me) and are the most delightful thing I think I’ve ever planted.
The blooms are giant, papery, ephemeral darlings.
Hollyhocks (Alcea species) are ornamental plants originating from ancient Asia and the Middle East. Cultivated by early civilizations in China and Egypt, these flowers made their way into European gardens by the 15th century.
They’re also medicinal! 🌿
It appears (I’m learning, too) that they are anti-inflammatory, provide respiratory relief, help digestion, and more.
So, you’ll see them here this week!
Lately
It’s been a week. I tend to operate from an attitude that the “news will still be there in the morning,” meaning I like to know what’s going on but avoid getting fully sucked in.
Try it sometime. Just do something else. Ideally, something that feels loving toward others or yourself.
Today’s reading
With the energy of the week in mind, this week’s reading is dedicated to learning how you can best show up for yourself and others right now.
Take a minute to drop into that space, and then scroll down to this week’s reading.
xo,
Natalie

Page of Wands Rx & Moon
This is a time of deep listening.
The best way you can show up for others and yourself is to acknowledge what comes up, to see and hear it fully, and to react from a place of truth.
Redirect your energy from avoidance to release. Unburdening.
In other words, face that thing that you’ve been not wanting to say, admit, or do.
The moon is a luminous tether to your own intuitive power. Listen to what is trying to come forth.
Listen.

Nine of Wands Rx & Manifestation
When I used to run a podcast, I ended each episode with: “In everything you wish to achieve, consistency is key.”
Be it learning a language, raising children, losing or gaining weight…small, consistent actions add up for better or worse.
What do you seek in your life more than anything right now?
How might you be helping that along or getting in your own way?
This is a call to be resilient. Stick with it. Iterate, then reiterate as you move along.
Manifesting, or bringing something forth, is about aligning with—like, fully experiencing it as if it’s already yours—the energy you most want.
Again and again and again.

The Emperor & Gentleness
Can you lead with kindness?
Whether you’re a parent, leader of some kind, or a person in the world (hint, everyone), what is the example you’re setting?
Aligning with Gentleness is a sister to the golden rule.
It’s important work to notice how you carry yourself through this life, how you show up, or how you’d like to show up.
What if you tried for one hour to do everything with kindness at the helm? That text, or the call to the insurance person, taking out the trash, or driving home in traffic?
Something will change in you. And with practice, you will change.
And with that, the world around you must follow.
Something I learned this week:
Much to my astonishment (and glee!), I learned that Gray Catbirds lay the most stunningly beautiful blue eggs. They rival Robins.
What I’m listening to:
A dear friend told me about LA LOM, and I’m hooked.
