Oh, my my. It’s TUESDAY!
I took a rare, long weekend to get away from my screen and spend some much-needed time resting and reading.
So, welcome to another week. I hope you’re feeling summer-y and vibrant heading into July.
Today’s cards are from a newly released Alchemy deck by Kim Krans. My first deck in this cool hexagonal shape, for sure. And perfect for alchemy.
She has an instantly recognizable, lovely style. Plus, the topic of alchemy is fascinating, both with the tangible and intangible elements surrounding us.
Let me know what you think!

one
Oleum vitrioli/oil of vitriol
“Am I the Green Lion or the Sun? The one consuming or being consumed? It is said that finding oneself in the mouth of the lion is a necessary moment on any spiritual path.”
-Kim Krans
Vitriol is a powerful catalyst for change: it burns everything in its path like a corrosive poison. But if bottled up inside, or used the wrong way, it turns inward and works on us.
Where are you directing your deepest frustration and anger right now?
Remember, saying bad things about the “other” only poisons our own store of energy and well-being. The “other” doesn’t even know it’s happening, but YOU are choosing to carry these thoughts around with you all day, every day.
Alchemizing this energy is a life’s work. For now, be aware of poisoning your own energy and body with vitriolic thoughts about others, your life, and your choices.
This shows up as blame, frustration, regret, and flat out anger.
It’s time to be aware of this pattern and emerge from the lion’s mouth brighter and stronger for it. To transform your pain into energy that serves. Release all control.

Cinis/Ash
Ash is deeply connected to what has come before. Kim calls it “the realm of our ancestors.”
Like the evidence of a fire, ash asks us to survey the past. This is delicate and sacred work.
What is your relationship to endings in your life:
People that have transitioned on from this life, friendships that shift and evolve, plots of Earth that have flooded or burned?
Humans like to feel like we know more at this very moment in history than ever before. Yet, we’re more disconnected and troubled, too.
What lessons can you learn from those who went before you? Pay attention. That’s the delicate part.
How can you balance the fire of temptation and destruction with the calm and tempered wisdom that surrounds you?
three
Saccharum/Sugar
The duality of this card is important:
Too much of a good thing, and it loses its shimmer and attraction.
Not enough, and it’s easier to forget what pleasure feels like.
It’s a call for reflection. This might seem simplistic, but like many things, easier said than done.
Where in you life can you balance your experiences of pleasure?
Have you overindulged lately? If so, where can you pull back?
Have you denied yourself something pleasurable or sweet and now you’re not enjoying life as much?
Try your best to be aware of this delicate relationship, then bring yourself back into balance.
